Uttarakhand has reported two COVID-19 cases, both involving women who recently traveled to the state from outside.
According to health officials, one of the women is a doctor working at AIIMS Rishikesh, while the other had arrived from Gujarat to attend a religious event in Rishikesh.
Both women began showing symptoms similar to COVID-19 after arriving in Uttarakhand. Following standard protocol, their samples were tested, and both were confirmed positive for the virus. The woman from Gujarat, who was already suffering from multiple health issues, has been admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh for treatment. Meanwhile, the doctor from AIIMS is currently in home isolation and is reported to be in stable condition.
Dr. Sunita Tamta, the Director General of Health for Uttarakhand, emphasized that both cases involve individuals who recently entered the state from elsewhere. She reassured the public that, so far, there have been no reports of local transmission within Uttarakhand. The state health department is closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant, follow COVID-19 safety guidelines, and report any symptoms to health authorities. The health department continues to keep a close watch on the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in the state.
