Char Dham Yatra 2025

Char Dham Yatra 2025: Over 25 Lakh Registrations So Far, Government Focused on Safety and Comfort

The Uttarakhand government has placed the safety and convenience of pilgrims visiting the state for the Char Dham Yatra at the forefront of its priorities.

With the sacred pilgrimage drawing lakhs of devotees every year, the state administration has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that every visitor is able to undertake a smooth and fulfilling journey to all four Dhams—Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

To strengthen on-ground management, high-level meetings with administrative and departmental officials are being conducted regularly to assess and enhance preparations. In a strategic move to streamline the process, secretarial-level officers have been appointed as nodal officers for each Dham, ensuring direct oversight and efficient coordination.

The state began its planning for the 2025 Yatra soon after the 2024 season concluded. As a result of early and proactive efforts, over 25 lakh devotees have already registered for this year’s pilgrimage—a strong indicator of the Char Dham Yatra’s spiritual and cultural importance.

Recognizing the challenges posed by unpredictable weather and terrain, especially in the early phase of the Char Dham Yatra, the government has issued special directives to departments such as transport, police, disaster management, and health services. Enhanced vigilance, real-time coordination, and infrastructure readiness are central to this year’s approach.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also reflected on the remarkable transformation of Kedarnath Dham following the catastrophic 2013 floods, which had left the shrine severely damaged. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the continued reconstruction and development in the region, noting that Kedarnath has not only been restored but has also emerged stronger and more resilient, symbolizing the unshakable faith of millions.

As the Yatra gears up for another season, the government’s message is clear—spiritual fulfillment must go hand in hand with safety, comfort, and efficient administration.
