Massive Drug Bust in Champawat: Woman Arrested with MDMA Worth Over ₹10 Crore

In a major drug bust, Uttarakhand Police and the Special Task Force (STF) arrested a woman in Champawat on Saturday with MDMA (Ecstasy) worth over ₹10 crore. Authorities are currently on the lookout for her husband and another accomplice, both of whom are also wanted in a separate drug case in Thane, Mumbai.

Inspector General (IG) of Police, Kumaon Range, Riddhim Aggarwal, revealed that the arrest was made as part of an ongoing coordinated operation launched after the Thane Police took action under the NDPS Act in Pithoragarh. Following that, Champawat and Pithoragarh police intensified surveillance and operations along the Indo-Nepal border to curb cross-border drug trafficking.

This arrest marks one of the most significant drug seizures in the region and highlights growing concerns over the increasing smuggling of synthetic drugs into Uttarakhand. Authorities continue to pursue leads and further arrests are expected.
